AM I SELFISH? YEA, I PROBABLY AM. 011

God is the embodiment of benevolence, mercy, and love. Those who are truly connected with Him cannot be at variance with one another. His Spirit ruling in the heart will create harmony, love, and unity. The opposite of this is seen among the children of satan. It is his work to stir up envy, strife, and jealousy. In the name of my Master I ask the professed followers of Christ: What fruit do you bear? {5T 28.2}

How often do you hear of the "variance" that exists within the church? Everywhere, in homes, schools, churches, and workplaces there is some drama or some conflict. A lot of times the roots of these conflicts are nothing less than un-forgiveness and grudge holding. Separation is perpetuated when we treat others in ways that we wouldn't treat ourselves. THE ROOT OF DISCORD AND SEPARATION IS SELFISHNESS. Sometimes I wonder how an argument could persist for an hour when both parties have simply just repeated themselves. Many times we listen to respond, rather than listen to understand.

God I pray that you give me Your Spirit to reprove and rebuke but also humbly take reproof and rebuke. God gives me the power of humility, so see situations from the position of others.

The next quote is very solemn and worthy of the highest attention.

I saw that God will not bow down and listen to long justifications, and He does not want His servants to do so, and thus precious time be wasted that should be spent in showing transgressors the error of their ways and pulling souls out of the fire. {EW 119.1}

Lord, I must decrease that you may increase, I pray that as I look to you and behold Christ on the cross, that you may change my heart and make me like You.
