THE LANGUAGE OF TEARS. 048

When I was younger, I went through a particular experience that I thought could have only been in a movie. After it, I was not traumatized; as a matter of fact, right after, I put on my clothes and went to school.

I did think though, how do people cope with things they find traumatic?

I have always been a relatively social person and would think to myself, “I should just go up to a person and tell them that I am all ears to whatever stressful thing they want to get off their chest.” I reckoned that there was large incentive for a person to share their deepest feelings and thoughts with a stranger due to the fact that a stranger could give a nonjudgmental ear to listen, they could give unbiased feedback, and of course they would have little desire to share or gossip because they likely had no friends in common.

Sometimes it’s hard to get people to listen, especially those we want to listen the most. There is also necessity to mention that we want good listeners, not those who will interrupt or “one up,” those that know when to give advice and when to console.

To listen in such a way requires great skill and sometimes requires that one be familiar with those whom they are listening to. There are beautiful verses about this that I want to share.

Psalm 34:15 The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers

Notice how God is ready to listen to us; but look deeper. Both verses say the same thing; as a matter of fact, the second verse -from Peter- is a quotation from Psalm, the first verse. Though they say the same thing we find that in the in one verse is says Gods ears are open to our prayer, while the other it says His ears are open to our cry.

This means that sometimes tears, dramatic pause, can be prayers.

And guess what.

God is listening.

So go ahead and cry,

God is listening to your prayer.

He is the best listener

Just cry

IJN,

amen
