THEY'RE POORER THAN YOU THINK. 054

Yesterday I wrote about how we could help in the simplest of ways. Today, I cover another simple yet powerful way we may work for God. Let's be clear though, some people are sooo poor, all they have is money. Riches can be anything, I know this, but for the sake of this post we are speaking about money.
There is a burden upon my soul in regard to the destitute mission fields. There is aggressive work to be done in the missions near us; and there is great need of funds for advancing the work in foreign fields. Our foreign missions are languishing. The missionaries are not sustained as God requires. For want of funds, workers are not able to enter new fields. Unless your hearts are touched in view of the situation in foreign fields, the last message of mercy to the world will be restricted, and the work which God desires to have done will be left unaccomplished. {6T 446.2}
Did you know that there is some person somewhere in the world that is desperately wanting to get an education? Post-secondary education yes, but there is someone, some little one out there that just wants to go to grade 6 class.
But can’t, because they can’t afford it.
The gospel needs to go forward yes, but the gospel involves meeting people’s needs.
If there was ever a time when sacrifices should be made, it is now. Those who have money should understand that now is the time to use it for God. Let not means be absorbed in multiplying facilities where the work is already established. Do not add building to building where many interests are now centered. Use the means to establish centers in new fields. Thus you may bring in souls who will act their part in producing. {6T 450.1} Think of our missions in foreign countries. Some of them are struggling to gain even a foothold; they are destitute of even the most meager facilities. Instead of adding to facilities already abundant, build up the work in these destitute fields. Again, and again the Lord has spoken in regard to this. His blessing cannot attend His people in disregarding His instruction. {6T 450.2}
There are some people, God bless them that choose to live their lives in support of these souls that seem barred from this world’s good. They too many times become alarmed at the fact that there is so much need abroad and so much abundance in other places. They try to spread the gospel, but Christ always met the needs of those He invited to accept him.
Money is a needed treasure; let it not be lavished upon those who do not need it. Someone needs your willing gifts. Too often those who have means fail to consider how many in the world are hungry, starving for food. They may say: “I cannot feed them all.” But by practicing Christ’s lessons on economy you can feed one. It may be that you can feed many who are hungering for temporal food. And you can feed their souls with the bread of life. “Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.” John 6:12. These words were spoken by Him who had all the resources of the universe at His command; while His miracle-working power supplied thousands with food, He did not disdain to teach a lesson in economy. {6T 451.3}
Did you know that for less than 100$ a year, that’s less than 10$ a month, you can send someone to school for the whole year!
No this is not an ad, and I don’t want your money. I am convicted though at the fact that I have soooooo much, and others have sooooo little and I barely give sooooome of what I have. Maybe us, who have so much are really the poor ones.
Poor is faith, love, benevolence.
Poor in kindness, in hearts that are quick to discern and address need.
Maybe we're so poor, all we have is money.
God help us to be rich in giving.
God, help us to help others, help us to realize that we need help, please.
IJN,
Amen.
