Failure, failure, failure, something we can do and something sometimes we feel that we can be. Whether you have simply failed at something or have felt like a failure, even if you never want to experience deep failure, this simple post can help.
Workers for Christ are never to think, much less to speak, of failure in their work. The Lord Jesus is our efficiency in all things; His Spirit is to be our inspiration; and as we place ourselves in His hands, to be channels of light, our means of doing good will never be exhausted. We may draw upon His fullness and receive of that grace which has no limit. {6T 467.5}
In everything we do, our intent should be to do it for Christ, (1 Corinthians 10:31). When we do our work for Christ, failure is impossible; don’t speak it, don’t even think about it. We need to learn more than we know, just how powerful Christ is. His power can never be exhausted, all that we need may be found in rich abundance in Him.
As we work in connection with the Great Teacher, the mental faculties are developed. The conscience is under divine guidance. Christ takes the entire being under His control. No one can be truly united with Christ, practicing His lessons, submitting to His yoke of restraint, without realizing that which he can never express in words. New, rich thoughts come to him. Light is given to the intellect, determination to the will, sensitiveness to the conscience, purity to the imagination. The heart becomes more tender, the thoughts more spiritual, the service more Christlike. In the life there is seen that which no words can express—true, faithful, loving devotion of heart, mind, soul, and strength to the work of the Master. {6T 476.4}
Just in case you missed it, the prerequisites to success were just given. I will outline them here again.
When we work in connection to Christ (when we live 1 Corinthians 10:31) and the conscience is under the guidance of Jesus, Jesus then takes control of our entire being.
The intellect: enlightenment
The will: determination
The conscience: sensitivity to feeling and hearing God’s direction
The imagination: purity
The heart: tenderness
The thoughts: spiritual
The service: Christlike
The whole life: the evidence that words cannot even express—true, faithful, loving devotion of heart, mind, soul, and strength to the work of the Master.
There may be ups and downs, and in this process, we may falter, but rise up again we must.
Galatians 6:9, Wherefore “let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Will you collaborate with God and receive this?
Do this for us please Father,
IJN,
amen
