My heart is stirred to the very depths. Words are inadequate to express my feelings as I plead for perishing souls. Must I plead in vain? As Christ’s ambassador I would arouse you to labor as you never labored before. Your duty cannot be shifted upon another. No one but yourself can do your work. If you withhold your light, someone must be left in darkness through your neglect. {5T 464.1}

My duty cannot be shifted upon another, no one but myself can do my work. Solemn. I think many times we feel less obligated to work for God because we may feel less skilled or qualified, but I’m pretty sure we’ve all heard the saying, God doesn’t call the qualified, he qualifies the called.

I resonate with that because it shifts the emphasis from me and puts it on to Him.

At the end of the day, God has called me, and He has called you too, there is a work to do that no one else can do but me, but you.

Here is the part that gets me though...

If I withhold my light, someone will be left in darkness through MY NEGLECT.

Mercy.

God, what if you neglected me?

Let me not neglect my duties, help me to faithfully perform that which You have called me to, so that those that NEED my efforts combined with Yours to be saved, may be saved indeed.

Let me be consistent, from the smiling face, the kind deed, words and acts of truth with genuine love, Lord let me be consistent, please. IJN, amen.
